This International PKU Day, established in 2013 by the E.S.PKU*, corresponds to the birth date of two leading scientists in the world of PKU: Robert GUTHRIE, inventor of the newborn screening test called “Guthrie test” and Horst BICKEL, the first to have developed a low-protein diet for PKU and to have established the screening in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
